Video Editing — Another my useful skill in the future
Through this graduation design, I also found that my editing skills were also used extensively in my final project. I was able to get through a lot of complex shots that I was able to string together, allowing me to improve my story logic significantly. I used several methods such as copying small pieces of splicing, transition shots, and so on, with a variety of methods applied flexibly.
So, apart from the animation direction, I could also go in the editing direction, and I have a lot of previous internship experience in editing, for example, I did planning and editing at Hubei TV. In the UK, I did an internship in photography and editing for a real estate presentation. I can very well apply the animation editing skills that I have learnt to these edits. How to introduce the surroundings through video.
To get a better understanding of what video editing is all about, I gathered information about video editing and how Vince in the video went from a youthful interest to what he calls his job. After watching the video on the introduction to video editing, I could appreciate that to be a good editor, I would first be proficient in using Premiere and Final Cut software, which I have been using for almost four years. In addition, I can organize my free time wisely instead of being pushed by my boss’s time to complete my work. Not only that but the more I get better at this kind of work, the more I can even use it for fun and to broaden my horizons by editing videos about different types of cultures.
One of the videos I did this year was about Valentine’s Day chocolates in London, which was talking about in the Custom House, there were many people taking part in this activity to make some delicious chocolates, I chose different times to record different steps of making chocolates, and using various skills such as transitions and repetitive editing in animation. So if I can accumulate more relevant experience in my future work, I will definitely be on the right path.
