Teesside Animex

From May 16 to May 20, which is the 23rd International Animation Festival held by Teesside University in Middlesbrough. It is a very authoritative animation game exhibition. This week, some various exhibitions and lectures are worthwhile to learn about.

The ticket I bought was about AVFX, I chose to visit Middlesbrough on May 17th.

There are many wonderful programs on that
day. At 10 a.m., the famous creative director Christian Manz introduced the binding, material and rendering of special biological characters in the animation from Harry Potter; Then, Carlo Carfora introduced a video advertisement. The animal characters in the advertisement make the images of animals in the advertisement deeply rooted in the hearts of the people through the director’s careful setting of animal personality characteristics; In the afternoon, Alexandra became a director for the first time and made an animation with campus theme; Next comes Marion from the animation company. She made a detailed analysis of the process of making animation and displayed the track of character movement through character style, composition and line drawing. The last one is the most wonderful film and television special effects. Azul showed various special effects such as building collapse, water flow, fire and explosion and analyzed how these animation special effects are made through data. Not only that, but Azhul also showed us the method of learning Houdini and provided us with the method of finding work in the industry and the learning website of relevant special effects.
What impressed me most are these five points: a good understanding of physics, a good communication of scale, a bit of coding, don’t hurt, creativity and currency. This is very helpful to my future work, and I will keep it in mind in the future.

Throughout the lecture, the students and students also responded positively to the questions provided by the lecturer, and we also gave warm applause for their wonderful speech. After receiving the souvenirs, I also went to the base camp to watch the 2D animation exhibition in the evening. Nawrocki, who has more than 16 years of animation experience, fully demonstrated her talent in film and television animation. From the simple and vivid walking of characters to a series of performances, the process was very clear. I also learned some methods of making animation from it to prepare for future work. A good understanding of physics, good communication of scale, and a bit of coding, don’t hurt creativity and currency. This is very helpful to my future work, and I will keep it in mind in the future.

Generally speaking, I gained a lot this day. I hope I can have more opportunities to learn more about animation exhibitions and related animation companies in the future.
